A sweet smell, a fresh breeze

Life is pretty sweet here at the moment.

It's amazing how everything looks so much prettier when the sun comes out, how the days feel so different with the fresh smells of Spring, and how the sound of birds in the surrounding trees can bring a total sense of calm through your body.

I love this life.

A post about nothing

It has recently come to my attention how boring my life is.
Like, 15 minutes ago. While I was trying to rack my brain for something to write a blog post about.
I mean, you can only write about certain things so many times before people are bored out of their brains.

Don't get me wrong, we are busy little bees, and life is pretty sweet right now, but there just doesn't seem to be a lot of stuff that's blog-worthy.

A little while ago I was flat out with work and blogging wasn't a priority.
It wasn't a nice lifestyle and I couldn't wait to cut back to one business and settle down a bit.
I thought then I would have time to get back into the things I love, and to blog about them!

Well those days are gone and I am certainly living a much more relaxed life and loving my new shop.
I have been gardening, sprucing up the house, and spending time with the kids.
But the blog thing hasn't come back to me as easily as I though it would.
I think my problem is that I see so many awesome blogs out there that have great posts about things that matter!  I feel like my posts need to be really good, to contain amazing photographs and change the world! Well not quite, but you know.

I remember a time when I would blog about any old thing!
It didn't need to be super exciting.
Just snippets of my life with my family on our little hobby farm.
I really need to get back in that frame of mind.

Let's start with this post shall we?
A post about having nothing to post about, wanting something to post about, then deciding I don't really
need anything to post about!

Do you ever struggle with your blog writing?

Book worm

I finally got my bum into gear and bought my pal Ro's book.
It's just as I had imagined- beyond awesome!
There may have been a tiny mention of me in there! Not to brag but I was a bit chuffed.
And there most certainly was my poor little rooster which I had incubated and raised myself, hanging upside-down in the killing cone about to go to rooster heaven.

I've been looking into stocking a few books in the new Modern Vintage shop {mainly so I can support a friend by selling his book}and have come across a few which I am very excited about.
I know they say never judge a book by it's cover, but look at  these beauties! How could you not?
I love them before I have even opened the first page.

I love anything which is visually pleasing to took at- books that you can flick through over and over and not tire of what's inside.
I would love to hear from you if you have any suggestions.
I am wanting to stick with design/home life style books, so if you know of any please let me know!

Beds and such

This year the kids are getting new beds for Christmas, and it has had me dreaming of a new bed
for Ben and I as well.
Our bed is about 12 years old and I think it's time for an update.
Ikea has some lovely beds and aren't too expensive either. This is the one I have my eye on:
I love the look of the old cast iron beds, and this one isn't too feminine so hopefully Ben likes it too!
I got these!
I bought some ace bedding not long ago from the Urban Outfitters website, and have been searching it again for the kids new beds.
Let me just say it is HARD to find ace bedding for an almost teenage boy!
Plus he wants something in purple. I'm trying to talk him out of that!
Ryleah's easy, she has the same taste as me so I can easily find what I like and convince her.

These are a few of my favourites
And don't forget their tapestries! Cheap as chips starting at only $39
{having said that, they're not really a tapestry as such. Just a printed piece of material really, but cool
non-the-less!}
You can hang them as an art work, or have them at the end of your bed like me.
They also have a really ace range of furniture, unfortunately you can't get it shipped over here :(
Check it out peeps!

Luna Park

Yesterday was family day, we went to Luna Park
The kids went on the dodgem cars
We played arcade games
We had a photo taken in the photo booth
We ate over-priced food for lunch
We lined up for 20 minutes to go on the ghost train
Ryleah went on a ride that went upside down
Jesse ate fairy floss on a stick
I got my photographing mojo back
It got really windy and started to rain
Jesse's fairy floss turned to slime
We fell asleep in the car on the way home (not Ben!)
We all had a great day
